“This recognition isn’t about just one person or a select few,” Barker explains. “It is a result of each and every employee buying into our culture and believing in what we are doing.” This award reflects more than financial performance; it speaks to Park Derochie’s ability to foster innovation, drive sustainable growth, and maintain a culture of accountability and continuous learning. MAJOR PROJECTS AND NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS Throughout its history, Park Derochie has taken on some of Canada’s most complex industrial and infrastructure projects. One of its most significant recent undertakings was its work on the LNG Canada project, where it deployed a workforce of over 700 employees—entirely unionized—from coast to coast. Managing a workforce of this scale on a single site was a challenge, but the company’s structured approach ensured the project’s seamless execution. Another major project was the rehabilitation of the Old Skeena Bridge in British Columbia. Park Derochie served as the general contractor, overseeing blasting, coatings, steel replacement, traffic control, scaffolding, and containment. Despite the project’s complexity, the work was completed four months ahead of schedule, exceeding expectations and earning praise from the Ministry of Transportation. 78 APR 2025 | BUSINESS ELITE CANADA
