Dear Readers,
For those who are returning from holidays, welcome back! For those who made false promises to themselves of
a grand luxury holiday which then remained a dream, join the club. The calendar dictates the end of summer and
the leaves are showing bright symptoms of fall, although my question lies as to where summer went. Blessed with
a warm breeze every now and then, over all Mother Nature seemed to be intoxicated this year.
Innovation is not something you can teach or learn in a classroom, it has to come from within. Often being a desire
to change that which is in practice already, innovation does not simply accept what is and instead seeks a solution,
an alternative or an opportunity to enhance existing methods. When speaking to leaders in various industries, the
underlying message which we extracted from the conversations was clear; innovate, or get left behind.
With its Kearl oil sands project, Imperial Oil Resources is charting new territory, taking on one of Canada’s largest
oil sands projects with an eye for saving costs and reducing their environmental footprint.
At the forefront of global forensic science is the new Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex in Downsview,
Toronto which will house the Office of the Chief Coroner, the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, and the Centre
of Forensic Sciences.

is only months away from finishing the state-of-the-art, forensic mental health hospital at Waypoint Centre for
Mental Health Care in Penetanguishene, Ontario.
