In October 2011, long-time Canadian en-
trepreneur David Berger was asked to
come up with an idea to help keep person-
al belongings safe while hotel guests were
relaxing by the pool or strolling along the
beach. No stranger to the world of patents
and product development, Berger accept-
ed the challenge and, when the project’s
owners decided not to move forward, re-
developed the idea into what is known to-
day as PoolSafe.
“What we see today took about a year and
a half of drawings and redevelopment,”
said Berger, CEO of PoolSafe Inc. “As
things would come to me, I would reposi-
tion the different pieces in the actual engi-
