The loonie, interest rates, and the mercury are all rising:
welcome to summer ’17. The only cool things we have now-
adays are our real estate market and our Prime Minister
(Hello, Rolling Stone magazine).
Summer means fresh foods, berries, and produce. And
whether you grow your own food, or buy it processed and
packaged, there is a good chance it was grown in fertilizer
made from Saskatchewan Potash. Our cover profile, The
Mosaic Groups, is a leader in the potash industry whose
mining accounts for approximately 12 per cent of world annual capacity and 40 per
cent of North American annual capacity—almost all of which takes place in Saskatch-
ewan. We put the spotlight on Mosaic hear how it turned the small town of Esterhazy,
Saskatchewan into The Potash Capital of the World, and its plans to stay at the top of
its field.
While many of you may be on holidays, we have been moving. Our new office is lo-
cated in First Canadian Place in downtown Toronto. From our window, we can see
FLYGTA planes taking off to the Niagara District Airport. We spoke with the CEO of the
airport about 12-minute flights from downtown to Niagara-On-The-Lake, and how the
airport is preparing for massive growth in the next decades. We can also see massive
construction projects, and see firsthand the work of the Nardella Group, the Toronto
Construction Association, Insulators 95, and L2C Excperts-Conseils. Come to think
of it, every business and organization profiled in this issue has representation in this
area.
We look forward to meeting more of you.
