EDITOR’S LETTER

akivik Corporation, the political, cultural, and economic
leader in Nunavik, has ushered in a new chapter in its four-

decade long history. The appointment of Pita Aatami as

M President—his second tenure in the position—had reinvigo-

rated the Québec-Nunavik discussions a after a 10-year hiatus and put
Inuit youth at the forefront of change. We spoke with Mr. Aatami about his

return to Makivik and goals for the group.

This month’s issue of Business Elite Canada also profiles EVLO, Hydro
Quebec’s energy storage project, and two major transportation infrastruc-

ture projects. These stories and more champion Canadian innovation in a

time of continued difficulties in the workforce because of the Covid-19 pan-

demic. No story can illustrate the resilience and technological innovation in
the face of Covid greater than that of Scandinavian Building Services, the

BEHIND THIS MASK, janitorial group who quietly helped the Edmonton Oilers resume to play—
something we can all cheer for during a cold Canadian winter.
YOU’RE LEADING THE WAY We hope you enjoy.
