Proactive health care means expanding space for patients
Working closely with Canadian healthcare professionals, BLT Construction Services has
led the design-build process to deliver temporary Pandemic Response Units and field
hospitals in record time to address a potential influx of COVID-19 patients on existing
medical infrastructure.
In April, temporary units were built for Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington and Trillium
Health Partners in Mississauga, each within 14-days. In May, construction began on the
Alternative Health Facility for Barrie’s Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
These units are designed to meet rigorous health care standards and deliver high-
quality patient care. Some features include oxygen lines, negative air pressure
ventilation systems, patient partitions, and nursing stations. We provide solutions
specific to each hospital’s site and access points.
Our building solutions are made possible through the combined efforts of our dedicated
teams of consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors who have rapidly
mobilized with a sense of urgency. With project sites active round-the-clock, 7 days a
week, each team member works with purpose and focus.
It is a privilege for BLT Construction to work alongside all our teams; we are united in
our commitment to support the preparedness efforts of our healthcare providers and
the wellbeing of our communities.
