With construction well un-
derway, Integrated Team So-
lutions (ITS), working along-
side EllisDon Corporation and
Fengate Capital Management
Ltd. is only months away from
finishing the state-of-the-art,
$471 Million forensic mental
health hospital at Waypoint
Centre for Mental Health Care
in Penetanguishene, Ontario.
After breaking ground in May
2011, the new 350,000 square
feet facility equipped with
200 patient beds, is replacing
and consolidating the existing
160-bed Oak Ridge facility,
built in 1933, and the 20-bed
Brebeuf building. It offers a
larger, more modern space for
treatment and care of patients
and is made possible through
the partnership with Infra-
structure Ontario and the
Ministry of Health and Long-
Term Care.
“The new building will bring
forensic mental health care
into the 21st Century,” Way-
point’s President and CEO
Carol Lambie explains. “The
patient rooms are larger and
brighter with views of the
bay and no longer will patient
meals and supplies need to
be driven to two locations.
It’s a hospital that is patient-
focused and reflects and sup-
ports the exemplary care our
team delivers to patients and
