Dear Readers,
Greetings and a warm welcome to the July edition of Business Elite Canada (BEC). With just a simple click of
the mouse, BEC provides free up-to-date world business news highlights and monthly editorials on successful
Canadian business leaders.
This issue is packed with some of the elite companies that are leaving their mark in their respective industries.
We hope that by browsing through this issue you will get informed about the many exciting things happening in
business and business-related endeavors across this beautiful country.
Seasons Retirement Communities philosophy focused on commitment, active living, results, enthusiasm, and
service is helping them grow. It is evident with new additions in Milton and Stoney Creek that their recipe for
success is working.
We also had the opportunity to catch up with Tom Odell, Manager of Capital Projects for Toronto Hydro regard-
ing the Clare R. Copeland Transformer Station (also known as Bremner Transformer Station). Once complete this
station will have the first ever gas insulated transformers in Canada.
Over in Whitby, Ontario, we caught up with President of Durham College Don Lovisa regarding their new Cen-
tre for food to accommodate the increased demand for culinary, hospitality, tourism, agriculture and horticulture
programs. When completed it will be the first green certified teaching restaurant in Canada.
This issue also features award winners in their own respective fields, L’Ancêtre Cheese Factory won the Canadian
Cheese Grand Prix for their mild cheddar cheese. Carmanah-Solar EPC Services for ‘PV project of the year’ for
Horse Palace at Exhibition Place in Toronto, ON and Jean Canfield Building in Charlottetown, PE; Dual Mechani-
cal who won gold for their work on the Annacis Wastewater Centre from the Vancouver Regional Construction
Association (VRCA).
