GREETING CANADA’S
NEWMINISTER OF
FINANCE
Following the resignation of late finance minister Jim Flaherty,
who suffered a heart attack earlier this year at age 64, the Harper
Government appointed Honorable Joe Oliver to take his place in
March.
Oliver, who is already titled as the minister of natural resources
since May 2011, steps up to the plate when called to action to guide
the republic after losing a prominent parliamentarian. Formerly
shepherding the Conservative Government, Oliver was the voice
of integral initiatives such as the main proponent of TransCanada
Corp`s Keystone XL pipeline and will continue to be the voice for
the nation during these concerning economic times.
After replacing the first finance minister ever appointed by Harp-
er, Oliver will work towards recuperating the present slow grow-
ing economy and other concerning issues including apprehensions
over the nation’s housing market and the flagging Canadian dollar.
With this federal restructuring and a new heir to the throne, the
nation awaits a positive ramification to Canada`s economic growth.
