FOCUS ON TREATING PTSD
The organization focuses on the mental
health needs of first responders and vet-
erans because of troubling statistics that
show the dangers those in their line of
work face every day. Since 2002, more
than 170 members of the Canadian Armed
Forces, both regular and reserves, have
committed suicide and more than 770
were wounded or killed in action. Since
2006, more than 30 RCMP officers have
committed suicide. Since April 2014, 45
first responders have committed suicide
and almost one in four first responders de-
velops symptoms of PTSD.
